+ Messugah + Machine head...,
And then I thought they would run out of budget and they would book some good undergrounbands.

Sadly I miss those.

Yeah, Meshuggah and Machine Head were the first signs for the next crappy bands to follow...

(Allthough this song is great of Meshuggah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOd-T58qHLA

I don't believe it was the sign that the crapy bands should come. Those bands aren't that bad compared with Lamb of God and Trivium.

I thought they would run out of budget and then book some cool underground bands, but it seems like that is not true.
Still I hope for some cool, small, undergorund bands.

Previous years they also had some black metal, and more deaht metal. I still miss some bands like that. What we now have are only mainstream bands.
But there is still place for some other bands to book, so I hope they will book some underground bands and not more mainstream.

Sadly. The bands that you hear nowadays on big festivals with Slayer are mainstream 'crappy' bands.
If you check the underground (thrash) metal (concerts) you really find some new, great bands. They are really good bands nowadays.

And you can't 'hang' forever in the 80's. You should give new muscians and bands also an oppertunity. The world goes further, you can't hang in the past

sad but unfortanatly the truth
Slayer is the speed-metal band that's never slowed down. Metallica? They enlisted a touchy-feely therapist to help the band finish its St. Anger album. Very unmetal. The once-mighty Anthrax is pretty much an afterthought.Image

Time for looking? It doens't mean you have to visit every underground concerts.

But why you don't take a fast look in the 'Die by the Sword' seqution. We have a thread were people can recommend some bands and where you can ask for typical music.

And don't forget that you can manage the time by yourself. Maybe you have to make time for searching good, new bands, they are really worth it.

The Devin Townsend Project...
Not that worse...

But I want to have some cool underground bands... where is the black and death metal? Previous year there where around 2-3 death bands + 1-2 black bands...

Depends, there are two entrances. One for the mainstage and one for the tentstage.
