It's religious black metal (satanic ofcourse, otherwise it would be white metal or christian black metal), but by the traditional theistic view of Satanism. (so not the LaVey Satanismn)
Those bands don't only sing about Satan, most bands also perform satanic rituals on stage, or use satanic symboles (canldelights, blood, pentagrams, altars, skulls).
A lot of these bands are Swedisch or Frence.
Some bands: Watain, Malign, Katharsis, Deathspell Omega, Antaeus, Ondskapt, Sargeist, Mare...,

Note: Most (orthodox) Black metal bands that are satanic rejects LaVey Satanismn and the Curch of Satan. They see Satanimsn as "Devil worshipping" and they believe this is a way of freedom (not compared with the freedom of LaVey Satanismn). Most orthodox bands are against Chrstians and they believe the Unholy message against Christians should be spread and that the Christianity should fall.

Hmm, the bands themself are not so pathatic as most of their fans. 'tr00' "behaviour" and that sort of shit. :\
But I agree NSBM (national social black metal) is much worse then the orthodox black metal... NSBM is really shit and pathetic to agree those idea's :hang

I think there is noting wrong with devil worshopping, so long I am not included. Most BM bands are satanic and the fist BM bands had a special 'cold' style combined with satanic lyrics. Nowadays there are a lot of BM bands with a 'warmer sound' more experiental and singing about a lot of other lyric themes such as nature, paganimsn, depressions, war... (like: Wolves in the Throne Rome, Dornenreich, Ufraust...). But the orthodox BM bands don't want to be called in one sentences with those bands, so they call thereself 'orthodox Black metal', to shown that they are standing and supporting the 'old, cold style' of black metal and supporting Satanmismn (as devil worshopping).
I think those bands are very influeced by their fans. A lot of black metal fans think they are 'tr00' and "want that the scene stays tr00". thats the typical, cold atmosphere by black metal fans (depends on whcih concert you go ofcourse, but specially the orthodox or the underground shows you see a lot of these people). And some shows are very special because of that atmosphere..
but I think it's nothing to worry about and the most people who are doing this have an age of 18 and those bands konwes the kiddies like it and they do it.

But I agree that NSBM is more pathetic then the 'kiddies behaviour'.
Those bands and those fans are really pathetic. I was once on a black metal board and there were some people that liked NSMB music and support the nazi idea's of that music. The only thing that I read in some threads was: 'we should gass the Jews'. 'Every people that has a low IQ or is handicatped should be inprisioned in a workingcamp. The Germans had camps 60 years ago'.
They agree that the politics of WWII were the best politics the world ever had and they support those idea's and they believe it's a solution for the modern problems.
Thinking and support those idea's is pathetic in my point of view.

dont condene that either,but the whole look at me im an evil devilworhipper and stuff just doesnt fly for me and dont get me started on the noise they belch out,that high pitch wailing combined with the make up and their nonsensical lyrics its just not for me
